| Many thanks to everyone involved in the 2025 Back Bay Plein Air Festival
It was a total success and seems to have been fun for everyone. Over 1,600 people attended the Weekend Show and Sale, and artists sold 114 paintings in total. 35% of the proceeds went to supporting the Back Bay.
So many people worked on it, SOCALPAPA, OC Parks, Newport Bay Conservancy, all of our sponsors,
and - most of all - every single artist who showed their work.
What a delightful week it was!
THANK YOU!

Meet August's Special Guest Artist: Danny Folkman
While I enjoy painting all kinds of scenery, LA is my lady.
We first met on a family vacation when I was 14. Growing up in New Jersey, I can't say I had been particularly inspired by the overcast skies and flat suburbs of the east coast. The year-round sunshine, diverse scenery and laid-back lifestyle of Southern California seemed like paradise. I was smitten.
I have been drawing as long as I can remember, but it wasn’t until my junior year of high school that my art teacher pushed me to start painting. I did not attend any art school or college, but instead sought instruction from my favorite professional artists through books, workshops and online courses. The workshops gave me the opportunity to explore the country and solidified my love for plein air painting and the west coast.
I thank God every day that I get to live in the place I love to paint.
Join Danny on Friday, August 22 @ 10:30am
