Omnivision: Art Across Boundaries

Congratulations to all Omnivision, Art Beyond Boundaries participants and winners!

Come see the show's 180 paintings, and all the winning works.

The Old Orange County Courthouse is open 8:00 to 4:30 weekdays. Invite friends to see the show until March 13th. Plan to join SOCALPAPA for a Paint Out at the Courthouse in March. Watch the bulletin for the date!

Special Guest Artist Demo: Anthony Salvo

Plein Air Painting with Gouache

Please join us for a plein air gouache demonstration by award-winning artist, Anthony Salvo on

Saturday February 22, 9:30am at the Back Bay in Newport Beach.

Anthony Salvo is a Southern California artist who knew from early childhood that art was his vocation. With an impressive art background spanning many years, Anthony enjoys plein air landscape painting as well as studio painting.
He attended the Art Center College of Design where he graduated with honors, receiving a BFA in Graphic Design and Packaging. He is the CEO and owner of the Salvo Design Group, a boutique advertising and graphic design firm located in Newport Beach.

He is represented by DeBilzan Gallery in Laguna Beach and Studio 2817 in Newport Beach. He is a long-time invitee to the LPAPA Plein Air Invitational and has juried into the Festival of the Arts for the past 15 years.

We are in the process of filling leadership positions for the 2025 Back Bay Festival -- planning is beginning!

Thank you to all who have volunteered! We just need someone to fill the Juried Show and 2 Co-Chairs for the Festival.

Please let us know if you would be willing to fill one of the open positions in red:

New Spring Dates now available for SOCALPAPA Members to view and paint the garden in yet another season.

The following dates have been added to the calendar.
Times are 9:00 am until 12:00 pm each day.

Laguna Beach

Take PCH into Laguna Beach and go South into the Northernmost of three entrances to Cliff Drive, go South down the hill and park near the walking ramp that goes down to the beach.

Restrooms by the ramp.

Paint beach views, South or North to Seal Rock and the bluff.

Saturday, February 22nd

Tony Salvo goauche demo at the

Newport Beach Back Bay, Muth Center

Take the 55 Fwy South to the Del Mar/Mesa Drive entrance by the Fairgrounds. Go past Mesa Drive and go Left on Del Mar (University Dr.) go a mile or so, cross Irvine Ave, and park in the corner lot and walk down to the Muth center.

Meet Tony at the patio in front of the Center.

Some may want to park down at the black buildings lot at the end of University and walk the back way into Muth center.

Bring a chair. After the gouache demo, you may want to paint a gouache or your own, so bring a lunch, and paint the iconic bay views in the afternoon. Restrooms in the Center.
