input from board members and general membership.

SOCALPAPA is proud to announce a December Members Display Show & Sale, with awards, open to ALL Members, at the San Joaquin Marsh Wildlife Sanctuary.
Saturday and Sunday, December 14 & 15
Full Details and a prospectus are here -- see link below! Make time to visit the marsh and begin painting for the show, and save the dates of the show itself.
There will also be a reception and awards ceremony on Saturday, December 14th.
Active members may submit 2 paintings, plein air or studio. All work must be of the marsh, the gardens, buildings, or the birds and other wildlife at San Joaquin Marsh.
Get out and paint! Paint outs have been added for November, if you want to paint with others, or you can also go on your own, as the area is open to the public from dawn to dusk daily.
*Note - this is the same location as the Quick Draw event last year.
This event is a display show and NOT a quick draw.

To find the location, take the 405 fwy and exit S on Culver. Go about a mile and go R on University, go about another mile and go R on Campus Drive over the Creek, and make an immediate R onto Riparian View.
Go 1/2 mile and go L just before the gate into the R or L parking areas.
There are great views from the parking lot into the marsh, with birds and marsh grasses.
Also, walk up to paint the Craftsman buildings and lawns. There are lovely small moments everywhere.
Restrooms and water refill station near the gift shop.

It is the time to be festive, so we are planning a SOCAPAPA Holiday Party in Dana Point on
Friday, December 6th
from 4pm to 8pm
The event will be held at
Sea Ridge Community Clubhouse

Dinner entrees will be provided by SOCALCPAPA
Please bring a side dish or salad to share.
Please bring a small gift to swap (art supplies, a canvas, brushes, a painting you like or a tool or a book you find useful, etc.)

Dana Point Harbor Conservation Park
9am
9:00 am. Dana Point Harbor Conservation Park, on bluff overlooking the Harbor. Tale 5 Fwy South to the Pacific Coast offramp onto short freeway into Dana Point.
Go into the town and go Left on Green Lantern to the end at the Park overlooking the Harbor.
Park on street and follow trails to the best view.
Restrooms are down the hill on Cove Rd to the parking lot.

Laguna Niguel Botanical Reserve
Laguna Niguel
9am. 29751 Crown Valley Parkway. Take the 5 Fwy to Crown Vallery exit, go South about two miles, just past Central Park Drive,
go Right at next exit into the entrance. Go past the pool building on the right and park on the left by the playground and restrooms.
Follow signs up the hill through the reserve to views overlooking the valley, or paint the trees along the trail. | | | Friday, November 15

Fullerton
9am. 3300 State College Blvd. Take the 57 Fwy North and exit at Imperial Hwy. Go Left over the Fwy and Left on State College.
Go one block and go Left into the entrance to the park. $5 entrance fee.
Restooms throughout the park. Pond Views and hillsides with sycamores.

Crystal Cove Cottages
Newport Coast
8 am. Take PCH a couple miles North of Laguna Beach to the Los Trancos parking lot which is the parking for the Cottages.
If you have a senior Golden Bear pass, leave it on your dashboard in the parking lot. $15 online parking for all others.
Take the $2 shuttle down to the cottages, or walk down through the tunnel 1/4 mile.
Paint the Bluffs to the South , or paint beach activity North of the Beachcomber Restaurant.
